Integrating Salesforce to your Association Management Software

If you are an association using iMIS, Aptify, ACGI, Euclid, Personify, NetForum or other mid-large association management software solutions and considering integrating to the Salesforce platform, Systems Rewired can help. Systems Rewired is a Salesforce consulting company that specializes in working with professional associations and trade-based associations.

The Salesforce platform is a powerful yet flexible and scalable solution that can be integrated to your association management software solution (AMS). And with Salesforce’s continuous updates to the platform and focus on the association and nonprofit market via the Nonprofit Cloud, there are reasons for associations to get excited.

Salesforce offers an array of different solutions such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud and Tableau to name a few, that can be used alongside of your current AMS. And for those organizations that are just not ready to commit to displacing their AMS with Salesforce, integration is an excellent option, and one that makes sense for most associations that are new to platform-as-a-solution (PaaS) offerings.

How does Systems Rewired integrate Salesforce to our AMS?

It depends upon the association and what they are trying to accomplish. If you are an association that is integrating a single application, we will typically recommend your standard Salesforce API integration. If you are an association that has multiple integration layers to multiple silos, that are complex, we may recommend middleware.

We will provide each customer a consultation to determine the best approach. And as with any software project, it will be important to understand what data elements we are passing back and forth between the solutions.

The most common ways we integrate Salesforce:

Salesforce API’s: Salesforce has invested heavily in building a platform that has open API’s that allow other software solutions to tightly integrate with the platform. Salesforce APIs allow software applications to communicate with each other. Salesforce offers four different API’s. REST API, SOAP API, Bulk API, Streaming API’s and together they make up Salesforce’s data API’s. With Salesforce’s API’s, one application can request data or services from another application, and the other application can respond with the requested data or services.

Middleware: Middleware is a software layer that acts like an intermediary between two or more solutions. Middleware helps organizations to connect, manage, and monitor data across different systems, platforms, and technologies. These solutions can work with cloud-based applications and on-premises.

These are two common approaches to integrating the Salesforce platform. The specific integration approach that is right for your association will depend on your specific needs and the systems you are already using.
